Are you feeling stuck, frustrated, and fed up despite all your efforts to stay organized and motivated? Have you ever wondered why it’s so much harder to focus and stay motivated as an adult compared to when you were a child? In this blog post, we’ll explore the concept of “cutting out the noise” and how it can help you regain your focus, motivation, and passion for your goals and dreams.
The Childhood Focus
Think back to your childhood days. You were likely brimming with curiosity and motivation. When you set your sights on a goal or a new activity, you dedicated all your time and energy to it. Everything seemed effortless. So, what changed?

The Noise
As children, we accept the world as it’s presented to us. We don’t question or argue; we simply embrace it. But as we grow older, we accumulate opinions, beliefs, and ways of thinking that have been imprinted on us. Slowly, we start to doubt our ability to be whoever we want to be and to achieve whatever we want to achieve.
Fear creeps in with every new step, doubt clouds our self-belief, and we find ourselves avoiding our true potential. It’s a situation many of us can relate to, and I’ve faced it too.
The Quest for Answers
Why do we suddenly doubt our abilities, lose motivation, and become stuck as we get older? This question plagued me for a long time. I couldn’t understand why, as I advanced in my career and business, I seemed to lose the focus and determination I once had. Instead of getting better, I felt like everything was falling apart.
That’s when I embarked on a journey of self-discovery to find answers. I needed to understand what had changed and why I was doubting myself.
Cutting the Noise Out
Ever heard of beginner’s luck? It’s that feeling when you try something new and unexpectedly excel at it, despite not knowing all the rules. Starting a business or a new career can be a bit like that. In the beginning, you follow a simple script or guidance, and things seem to work.

However, as you learn more and gain a deeper understanding of the game, everything starts to feel more complex. You overthink, overanalyze, and constantly change your strategies. This can leave you stuck for months or even years.
So, if you’re currently feeling stuck, unsure of your next step, or have lost your passion and motivation, here’s my advice: cut through the noise and discover what’s holding you back.
An Exercise to Find Clarity
Let’s get practical with an exercise that can help you regain focus and motivation:
Step 1: Grab a piece of paper and divide it into three columns.
Column One: List all the blocks and false beliefs that are currently holding you back. These might include statements like “I’m not good enough” or “This can never happen to me.”
Column Two: Identify where this noise is coming from. Is it from your family, friends, cultural influences, or social media? Recognizing the sources can be enlightening.
Column Three: In this column, list what you want to believe or what you want to achieve instead. Replace those false beliefs with empowering ones that align with your goals and aspirations.
Remember, only new actions can change your reactions. You are the creator of your reality, so make sure it’s worth it!
By cutting out the noise and addressing the beliefs and influences that hold you back, you can rediscover your focus, motivation, and passion for achieving your goals. Don’t let the noise of the world drown out your inner voice and potential. Embrace your true self and take steps towards the life you desire.
